Welcome to Elementary Italian. In this level, you’ll expand your vocabulary, gain confidence, and learn to use Italian past tenses like Imperfetto and Passato Prossimo to share stories and experiences. Through in-class activities and guided conversations, you’ll move well beyond basic “survival” Italian and start feeling in control of real, everyday interactions.

Elementare 1
Build on your Beginner-level skills and move confidently into the next stage of Italian. You’ll expand your vocabulary, strengthen your conversation and start mastering the imperfetto alongside the passato prossimo that you’ve learned from beginner courses.
Key grammar topics: imperfetto; prepositions with time; comparatives and superlatives.

Elementare 2 online
Deepen your command of past tenses while growing your vocabulary and fluency. You’ll practice expressing emotions, handling real-life situations like visiting the doctor, and engaging in more natural conversation.
Key grammar topics: indirect pronouns; formal imperative mood; particle ne as a partitive pronoun.

Take your Italian further with practical, interactive communication. Learn to give advice, suggest cultural activities, and understand everyday notices while practicing new grammar structures.

Advance your communication skills by learning to make predictions, draw analogies, and express wishes or polite requests. Interactive activities will help you speak with more nuance and confidence.
